It's finally sinking in that in two months I will be handing in my resignation at Superstore and making preparations to move to Poland.
This has been a period of research, but the most enlightenment has come from Urszula and Mary, who have both been there. At the time of the last post I was still very much terrified of the prospect of moving to Europe, but the excitement and anticipation is definitely winning out.
Now Sarah and I are going through the process of going through our stuff and figuring out what goes, what stays, and what is given away. I never realized a pair of people could amass so much stuff in such a short time as three years (though Sarah has been here longer). Even as we try to downsize our personal inventories, our world is getting so much larger and I can't wait to see it all!

So it begins...
So for those friends and family who want to keep track of my sweetheart and I when we finally make our way to a job in Poland, this is it...aside from Facebook.
But that's not for a couple of months.
A few weeks ago, we submitted our applications. A week after that we were doing interviews with a man on the other side of the world. 3 days ago we sent in the preliminary paperwork to get our work visas started...
And the realization that everything familiar is about to come to a screeching halt hits me every time I go to work. Every swipe of my finger on the clock is another counter toward punching in for the last time. Every pallet and box I move seems to tell of 8 long, often miserable years of my life coming to a finality that terrifies me as much as it excites. Each step is another taken toward the end of a long chapter. I can't tell if those steps are being taken at a walk or a run because time seems to have started moving faster than a speeding TARDIS.
Even as other things in life loom closer that I am even less prepared for, I still can't believe that the one thing I've spent a third (or pretty much all of it if you count Elementary and High school) of my life working toward is almost here.
The adventure is beginning...
